Assessment and Reporting
Assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning. Assessments are aligned to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) syllabus outcomes within each stage. Evidence of achievement is gathered in many forms to embrace the diverse way each of our students demonstrate their learning.
Assessment enables students to demonstrate what they know and can do. It can also clarify student understanding of concepts and promotes a stronger knowledge base. Assessments guide teachers when tailoring activities to meet students at their development stage.
At St Pius X, we follow The Common Grade Scale, as recommended by the NSW Educations Standard Authority for assessment and reporting. The Common Grade Scale describes performance at each grade level.
