Newsletter Term 3 Week 7, 2025
Acknowledgement of Country
In the Spirit of Reconciliation, the St. Pius X school community recognises the ongoing role of the traditional custodians of this land, the Tubba-Gah peoples of the Wiradjuri nation. It is on their ancestral lands that we continue our learning journey together.
We extend that respect to Elders, past, present and emerging. Furthermore, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our school community. Acknowledging their presence and spiritual connection to Country.
In the light of faith, we work towards a more accepting and humble school environment for all.
Principal's Address
Dear St Pius X School Community,
The happiest of Fathers’ Day this Sunday to our Father figures in our community, it is truly one of the most rewarding jobs one could do.
"My father has been my teacher, my supporter and my critic, but mostly it is his example of a life well-lived and a service freely given that I most wanted to emulate." - Unknown
Teachers’ Aide Appreciation Week
This week we recognise the wonderful work that our Teachers’ Aides do at St PIus X and schools all around the world. I thank you whole heartedly for simply making SPX a better place.
SPX Mural
Thanks to Mrs Dannah Garling for her work in piecing together the wonderful mural being created on our library wall. We thank artist Sandon Gibbs-O’Neill for his time in creating the mural and for the time you are also sharing with the students of St Pius X.
Pupil Free Days
NEXT Monday 8th September will be a school pupil free day. Staff will be spending the day with Educational Consultants focusing on our NAPLAN data and other essential assessing methods. The last day of the term (September 26th) will also be a Pupil Free Day.
Have a great week.

New Girl’s Summer Uniform Option
A reminder that we will have a new Summer uniform option for girls. This will be available from Lowes. The uniform items are not currently available in store but should be in stock by the end of next week. Please note that Winter uniform is worn for all of Term 3. Summer uniforms are worn from Term 4.
Girls Summer option one: Pink checked dress, black shoes and white ankle socks.
Girls Summer option two: Maroon skort, fawn short sleeved button up shirt, black shoes and white ankle socks .

Attendance
It’s great to see our school attendance lifting after a tough run with flu and colds. Bring on the warmer weather!
A reminder that it is not recommended to take holiday leave during the school term as your child will miss vital learning opportunities during this time. However, if it is unavoidable, any time over ten days requires special leave documentation to be completed. This documentation is a mandatory requirement for students taking time off longer than this timeframe.

Dubbo Stampede
It's time to register for the Dubbo Stampede!
On Sunday 7th September the infamous annual running / walking festival will be held. This year is different in that it will start at Ollie Robins Oval. Choose between the 5.3km, 10km, 21.1km or for those who are really up for a challenge, 42.2km. There will also be a new category of the Meerkat Mile, aimed at 5 -12 year olds.
Most of all it's a great opportunity for a great day out as a family to enjoy the sunshine and start Father’s Day with a bang!
Since 2022, St Pius X have won the school category for the most entries, an easy $500 that goes back into the school. Last year the school also gave the participants a $10 voucher to spend at Burgies. We are hoping to do it all again!! All you need to do is when you register, nominate St Pius X as your school. You can even get your friends and family to do the same.
