Newsletter Term 3 Week 1- 2024
Welcome to Country
In the Spirit of Reconciliation, the St. Pius X school community recognizes the ongoing role of the traditional custodians of this land, the Tubba-Gah peoples of the Wiradjuri nation. It is on their ancestral lands that we continue our learning journey together.
We extend that respect to Elders, past, present and emerging. Furthermore, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our school community. Acknowledging their presence and spiritual connection to Country.
In the light of faith, we work towards a more accepting and humble school environment for all.

St Pius Book Fair 2024
Next Week, St Pius will be holding its annual Book Fair in the school library. A large array of quality
and popular books will be for sale, along with a selection of fun stationary.
This week, students may browse the range, and may choose to take home a ‘Wishlist’ if they like for
their parent’s perusal. The ‘Wish List’ does not need to be used or returned to school unless parents
want to use it.
On Wednesday and Thursday of Week 2, students will be able to purchase items during their library
session, and also at lunchtimes. Parents are also welcome to come and browse with their children,
before and after school on these days. Cash and Eftpos both accepted.
The school receives a commission on all sales and this is used to buy new resources for your
children.
I hope you can support this great activity.
PLEASE NOTE: Book Fair and Book Week are 2 separate events.
Book Week will be in Week 5 of this term, and our Book Character Dress-up Day and Parade will be
during that week on Thursday August 22 nd.
Kind Regards, Mr Schwager (Teacher/Librarian)
Student Wellbeing
One of the new initiatives for Student Wellbeing this semester is participation in Zumba classes!
It has been demonstrated that Zumba has many benefits for children including, boosting self-
confidence and self-esteem, improving flexibility and coordination, as well as being a great stress-
reliever!
Students will have the option of participating in Zumba lessons in our school hall on Friday
afternoons this term in Weeks 1, 4 and 9.
This activity comes about due to the kind donation from our P & F who have funded this Student
Wellbeing initiative. Thank you!
Kind regards, Mr Schwager (Student Wellbeing Officer)
PS: At the end of last term, a brand new Minnie Mouse soft toy fell out of someone's car at Pick-up. I would love to return it to its owner. Let me know.
