Welcome to Country
In the Spirit of Reconciliation, the St. Pius X school community recognizes the ongoing role of the traditional custodians of this land, the Tubba-Gah peoples of the Wiradjuri nation. It is on their ancestral lands that we continue our learning journey together.
We extend that respect to Elders, past, present and emerging. Furthermore, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our school community. Acknowledging their presence and spiritual connection to Country.
In the light of faith, we work towards a more accepting and humble school environment for all.

Semester One Reports
In response to NESA requirements and research conducted by Catholic Schools NSW, the
Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst has modified our school reports to make them a more
effective reporting tool, allowing schools to inform parents of their child’s educational
progress.
You will see this explicitly in your child’s Religious Education, English and Mathematics report
this semester with learning reported using the sub-headings Learning Strengths and Learning
Goals. This is in response to the findings stating the need for clear, objective reporting on
student achievement and goals rather than “soft language”. The Learning Strengths will provide
an overview of student achievement, what students can do, in line with syllabus outcomes. The
Learning Goals section will provide 1-3 key areas that students can work on in order to move
their learning forward.
Semester One reports will be available on Compass on Thursday 4th July.
Uniform
All students will need to be in full Winter School Uniform from the 11th June (next Tuesday).
Please ensure that your child is wearing a school tie, which is part of our Winter School
Uniform.

Peachey Shield (Years Five & Six nominated boys) is being held Tuesday 11th June at Apex Oval. The day starts with a briefing for all participants at 9.10am. We are asking that students attending be dropped off at 9.00am. Mr Cant, Mr Jones and Mrs Garling will be there at this time marking off names and handing out footy jumpers. Please have notes returned to the class teacher as soon as possible.
I will send out a draw when available.
Children NEED to bring safety equipment (headgear and mouth guard) as well as recess, lunch and plenty of water.
FULL sports uniform MUST be worn (includes hat), no student will take the field in incorrect uniform.
St. Pius X has entered two Senior teams (one inexperienced and one experienced) to compete on the day. Any parent support on the day would be greatly appreciated.
The whole day changed its formation in recent years and became a non-competitive day.
